Information & consultation

Information and advice
As an information clearinghouse we process news and information for everyone involved in intercultural exchange and children’s and youth travel. Relevant information and advice as well as news from the field are published in the journal Jugendinformationsdienst and are passed on in various information events. Upon request we also provide contact to experts and trainers for specific topics.

Platforms and Networking

We facilitate dialogue and networking of individuals and organizations who otherwise rarely meet, e.g. from the fields of social science and practice, or from official youth organizations and independent initiatives, in order to overcome personal and institutional barriers, to mediate mutual insights and understanding, and to initiate continuous discourse and cooperation. This competency we utilize in coordinating a wide range of projects.

Information & Consulting Days

Each year transfer organizes a series of information and consultation days in different cities throughout Germany. These events aim at providing an overview of the professional fields of international youth exchanges and children’s and youth travel, as well as informing about and discussing trends in these areas. Experts from regional and national contexts offer presentations and workshops on trends, challenges, and developments in the two professional fields. In the afternoons, individual or small-group consultation is provided in an Information Market. Participants have the opportunity to establish contacts for collaborations or for their own professional future, to look through (or to display their own) professional publications and handouts, and to get information about training and other qualification opportunities. Download the current flyer with information on topics and agenda.

Starter events

Annual Forum of Training Seminars

This event succeeds the former Annual Conference of the Working Group for Training and In-Service Education, which was established as a network for trainers and facilitators. The Annual Forum will provide a national platform for ongoing and innovative projects: Current topics will be presented and discussed with the objective to develop new cooperation projects (with funding proposals) for implementation in the coming year. The Forum is also intended to facilitate professional and personal exchange of information.

The Forum is geared to personnel development specialists and managers with similar responsibilities in organizations, as well as to trainers and consultants in their respective fields of work. We also look forward to participants from the scientific community.

Workshops and a panel discussion with experts from practice and research will serve to discuss currently “hot” topics, while there will also be room for sharing of experience, for utilizing synergy between the different fields of work, and for jointly developing new ideas for sponsored projects.

The Annual Forum is part of the Training Seminar Program, a series of 10-15 seminars and conferences coordinated jointly by transfer and IJAB, International Youth Service of the Federal Republic of Germany, and sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Youth with grants from the Children and Youth Fund.
